Wheels for Learning

Lisa passed the floor over to Maryanne Marshall.

The Rotary Wheels for Learning Bicycle Distribution Program currently supports the children of Cambodia and Laos.  Many children have to walk 10 km one way to attend school.  Most parents can't afford school and transportation.  The result is most children can't attend school.  The bicycle helps children attend school and can help the whole family as a whole with a form a transportation.  The bicycle can be used by the families outside of school hours for their basic needs like going to the market and medical clinics for treatment.

The program is based on a $50 donation.  Each donor will provide a rural child with a sturdy bike equipped with a basket, carrier, lamp and lock.  The bike will proudly display the Rotary logo.  Bikes are the main transportation in Cambodia.  For more information on how you can become a donor and receive a picture of the child you are sponsoring visit www.rotarywheelsforlearning.blogsot.com   or email inquiries at rotarywheelsforlearning@gmail.com .  You can also donate through pay pal at www.gravenhurstrotary.com
