This weeks meeting was held at the Huntsville High School.  The cooking class made a roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings in recognition of our neighbours to the South's Thanksgiving.

ident Ken introduced our visitor Susan Burke, Helen and Lee Barker.  The first order of business this week was the induction of Lee and Helen Barker.

President Ken gave the couple the right hand of fellowship.

Kim O'Grady presented the couple with their new membership package and placed the beloved pin on each couple.Lee's shirt had trouble accepting the rotary pin, but Kim never gave up and won the battle.

President Ken announced there is a Board Meeting on December 10, 2014 at the train station.  The meeting will commence at 6PM.  Our December 10th lunch meeting will be held at the Mill on Main.  Wednesday December 3, 2014 will be our last meeting this year at the Holiday Inn.  President Ken encouraged all Rotarians to thank the staff for all their hard work all year!

BRANDY THANKED DOUG SULLIVAN

Brandy announced that the Rotary Run Around earned $360 for Rotary.  Doug Sullivan donated a beautiful leather jacket.  This event was fun and a huge success!

Gord announced the Salvation Army Kettle collection outside the Liquor store. Huntsville Rotary holds the record for the most monies collected for the Salvation Army. The following dates and times are still available;

Saturday December 13, 2014.

  • 11am-1pm
  • 3pm-5pm

Its important to dress warm and dogs are a good accessory to encourage donations and conversation.  Lets break our own record!

Dave Van Gelder met the Santa Barbara Rotary and exchanged Rotary flags.  The Rotary of Santa Barbara has 150 members and their fines are punch cards.  Once the cards are full they need to purchase another card. Dave really enjoyed the Micro Breweries tasting at their meeting.
