The Taiwan GSE Team Presents.......

Steve Meadley, President of the R.C. of Bracebridge and driver of the Taiwan GSE Team, introduced the Team to our meeting.

Team Leader: Rotarian D.G.N.D. Polish Chiu.  Owner of Sunshine Abrasive Co. Ltd. An expert in the  Polishing Grinding Wheel  field. 

Chun-Yuan Jean – A conceptual fashion designer. Creates wide range of themes such as the exploration of the fundamental meaning in clothing and the reflection of the world status.

I-Chuan Chang – Computer science and business management. Responsible for network security consulting.

Marisa Cheng– Professional  guidance counsellor.  Specialties in recruiting over seas students.

Rebecca Cheng – experienced emergency nurse practitioner focusing on caring for patients in an emergency setting.

Shendar Lee– Expect in both moulding and tooling fields. Technical manager in research of hot runner systems.

A well rounded review of their small country in land base, which was described as twice as large as our Lake Ontario with a population of 23,000,000 in comparison to Ontario’s population of 12,000,000.

Their power point and video presentation reflected on the country, its industry, population, resources, foods, festivals and culture.

Some of the highlights:

                The Chinese New Year is their largest festival and goes on for days and nights.

                Dragon Boat Racers come from worldwide to compete. 

                Many night markets: welcome tourists to view and buy 24/7; then immediately consume

                Tea is BIG in Taiwan; acres and acres on the hill sides.

                 Largest world bicycle manufacturer:  Giant – the choice of Champions!  

                Electronics, Electronics and more Electronics!!

A very impressive presentation to introduce to us their very industrious country.
