Born 1954 in Ottawa and grew up all over Canada as his dad was a member of our Armed Forces.  Until he graduated from high school in Trenton Ontario, he lived in Ottawa, Edmonton, Ottawa, Toronto and finally Trenton. Attended Western Ontario University in London and earned a degree in Geography....he could have written the coarse by then!

After his London experience he hitch hiked to Whitehorse; much like many of us did back in those days. There he capitalized on a sweet job there just because he had worked hard as baggage handler at Pearson Airport during high school; in Whitehorse he’s back to baggage handling, something like in the Arctic Air show of today....not many planes and lots of free flying!!

Soon a real job beckoned and RBC was his choice and again he was on the move.....Toronto, Ottawa, (guess who he met there), Cornwall, Barrie and finally Huntsville – commercial loans officer was his trade till 1996 when self employment was the better challenge. By that time he was a volunteer at the Huntsville Festival of the Arts and as smooth in the sales and talking....17 years ago when the general manager’s job came up Rob was successful. He says he still loves the job and one doesn’t have to wonder very long as we see him in that role each and every day loving what he does.

Our club was lucky in 2000 when Rob was invited to a luncheon or two; since then he’s been a very active member and been involved in all the major projects. It certainly was a nice review down memory lane to see the projects that Rob has been involved in since he joined our club.

As a member of our club, Rob is very busy, but if you need him to review something, lend a hand or do something, he’ll not let you down.

Hobbies – a life time of hockey; even with his kids lately; of late a scuba diver ( I often wondered who that was in your Rotary Directory picture); and now  a biker and he’s seen most on North America by bike.

Travelling - he and Beth have seen many part of the world. Good for you.

Wow – as president Len remarked.......our best speakers are our own members when they, as Rob’s talk was, a re-introduction of an older member for our new members to get to know who we are.

From all of us Rob, thanks so much for sharing your life with us.
