Months ago Pres Debbie K. asked Hugh Holland to review the Bylaws of our Rotary Club and bring recommendations to the Board for discussion; the membership would then be advised of the suggestions, and then a vote to update them as they had not been done been for 5 years.

Pres Deb has emailed them to all members to read through and if need be, suggestions could be voiced by the member to Hugh and a review may include the idea or it would be discussed. Finally the revised Bylaws were emailed to all; last week Hugh was asked to review the revised Bylaws at our Club Luncheon.

As he started, he asked Will Gibson to nudge Gord Mitchell at his table in case Gord started to snore during the review. All went well as Hugh guided us through the 6 pages of Bylaws of the Rotary Club of Huntsville, Incorporated.

Hugh stressed that this paper was a DRAFT ONLY PAPER Dated May 23, 2014. In his introduction Hugh stressed that the Constitution & Bylaws are intended to provide helpful guidance to the Club`s operation and that they cannot and are not intended to cover every possible situation. He did read a several lines of the supportive language that many constitutions often have that hopefully answer all those situations...as he read on.....more Rotarians than Gord were nodding off.

There were a few corrections voiced during the luncheon. Hugh will adjust the paper and a vote will be taken at our evening meeting on June 4th.

Hugh did a great job in the presentation as he has done this job for us before.
