ImageHelena Renwick, chair person of the Festival of the Arts and a person who does ALOT behind the scenes work to get these shows going was at our luncheon to show a really neat type of wall that we will be using at the play this year.

Above all things she supervises the building of the sets and that means she guides Ross Kirwin and Doug Fairhall as they build those set every year!! She says like Debbie K showed us this week, that butter tarts, seem to make the whole construction activity flow along very smoothly!!

Her purpose of attending our luncheon was twofold,

1)    To thank the Rotary Club of Huntsville for again sharing the load in the production of the Guys and Dolls Show. As most of us know, our Rotary Club has had a long history in presenting musicals productions on stage in our town for several decades. In the last several years it has been great to re-establish these musicals productions locally with the co-operation of the Festival of the Arts at the Algonquin Theatre.

2)    Helena was excited to show us the painted canvas walls that measure 4 ft tall and 20 feet long that will be stapled on to the wooden frames that Ross, Doug and company made earlier. These walls were produced in Bracebridge by a group of theater supporters; Helena prepared the wall painting on a painting isle and then  they blew it up 20 times and produced the walls. FANTASTIC!!
