The meeting was called to order by President Ken at 12:15. Meeting visitors included:

Announcements

There will be a District Conference September 18th-20th.

 

President Ken read a letter of thanks from Kathleen Millar.

 

Peter Redwood asked for volunteers for Party in a Box. There is a wedding scheduled in Dorset and there is a need for a 4X4. Sandy volunteered.

 

Rob Saunders gave us an update on how the planning is going for the parking for Muskoka Sound. Both the morning and our club will be organizing and the shifts will be approximately 3-4 hours. The ideas for parking include fair grounds, Alan Peters lot across from Mobile Marine and the old Algonquin Automotive lot. Rob will keep us updated.

 

Kelly Hammond announced that there will be a production of Wild Wild Quest written by Roger Bird put on at Trinity United Church hosted by the Rev. Derek Shelby. Show date will be August 22 and 23. Tickets cost $20 per person.

 

Tamara Del Vega resigned as Club Secretary. Pamela McCluskey will graciously take over the position.

David Brushey has an education in Geography and Local Economic Development from the University of Waterloo. David has worked in Economic and Business Development positions for most of his career, at municipal, regional and provincial levels. David became the Executive Director of Muskoka Community Futures Development in 2010.

Aileen Taylor joined Muskoka Futures in February of 2014 as the Program Coordinator for Muskoka Futures new Business Support Program. Aileen's experience as the program coordinator with the Self Employment Assistance Program is also invaluable. Aileen has also small business experience as a previous owner of an HR consulting company and current consultant to Taylored Home Solutions.

Kim O'Grady thanked Bill Sibeon for cover her Bingo shift. She also thanked April for joining.

Will Gibson had a Newfoundland vacation.

Ron thanked Keira for being greeter this week. Ron still has 5 clubs to visit.

Peter Redwood thanked all volunteers who helped out at the ball tournament.

Bill Sibeon's wife is coming home!

Tony announced they sold their Trinidad Condo.

Roger Temple is glad to be back in Huntsville.
