What is media teaching our children?...
That it is Ok to objectify women
That to be a man they have to take what they want
That if they buy a girl dinner sex is included
That using derogatory words is Ok
That bullying anyone (women, each other, GLTG, children, disabled) is a form of humor
That it’s Ok to judge a book by its cover

If you agree that this is something society needs to re-evaluate…..BE THE CHANGE

We are trying to get this important message into the schools. There are many programs in place to help girls deal
with the media and the way it distorts and objectifies women. Currently there are no programs for boys and some
schools are saying the boys don't need to hear the message that it is not okay to objectify women or bully others
or how to recognize how the media distorts messages

Come and hear Nigel Wilson as he offers insightful and effective stories which may reshape the way we think
about the media and its message. In particular, the challenges facing our youth.

Nigel Wilson was born in Scotland and raised in New Zealand. He now lives in Muskoka with his wife and three children.
He runs a small custom woodworking and furniture business and does various public speaking engagements drawing on
his experience as an ex-Royal Marine Commando with special duties in the British Forces.
He is one of the founding members of the local group “Dads of Muskoka”.

Admission is free but donations will be accepted at the event
