Our Rotary Club was treated to some great news last Wednesday...... members of our club's Interact Club at the high school came to update us on their activities and to say thanks for our Club for our support at their recent barbecue that was held at the high school to raise money for the interact club which they in turn donated to the Table Food Bank. The good news of the club was brought to us by Sara Smrtka and Claire Tusz.

Claire told us that when she was in grade 9, the Interact Club was working very well with many projects and members, then all of the leaders graduated! In the next year in grade 10, there were only two members left so it fell by the wayside. This year in grade 11 she decided she would promote the idea to the classes and was pleased to report to us that at their first meeting they had 20 members. Wow!! She expects a few more members to come along and they have lots of good ideas to work with this year.

Our Club supplied our “Party in The Box” and The Rotary Club of Huntsville - Lake of Bays, brought their Dunk Tank; with both activities the Interact club was able to raise $400 which was donated to the Table Food Bank!!! And members of the Interact Club were very pleased with their efforts of the game and appreciative of our clubs in their support.

It's great to see and hear the enthusiasm of the Interact Club members and to know that the high school version of the Rotary Club is alive and well in Huntsville once again!!Image
