The Board of directors met on November 13th with the following discussions;

Club Administration by  Mary Rashleigh: Commented that the lineup of luncheon speakers have been very informative. If any of our members have new speaker ideas, please send their contact information to Tamara de la Vega .

She noted that our club has sent a $200.00 memorial donation into the Rotary Foundation in memory of Carmen White; Barb and Cameron’s grand-daughter who recently passed away.

Thanks to Gord Mitchell who had done the Echo when Cathy Jordan was on vacation.

Visitation committee: Peter Van Buskirk reported that he had received a thank you note from Si Cline, to say how much they appreciated receiving our club’s anniversary card for their 65th wedding anniversary. Si will be back to see us in May 2013 when he opens his cottage again on Smoke Lake!

Mary reminded that club members that the meeting for November 21st will be an evening meeting at 6 PM at the Holiday Inn Express. The speaker for our meeting will be Debbie K’s nephew who supported a friend in standing up against Bullies. Bring potential Rotarians to introduce them to our Rotary Club. Ken Stronach, our cater, is planning a special meal, so please call Al’s Taxi by 9 AM Tuesday, November 20th so we can get right #’s of meals ordered for our evening meeting. Don’t forget your family members and friends.

Public Relations by Don Dunton: Thanked Tamara for the publicity in the Forester and Weekend newspapers. This week there is a photo in the Forester of Rotary presenting $6000 to the Table Food Bank. Our club is going to deliver $500 per month for this Rotary year to the Table Food bank; which comes from the bingo fund raiser. Don also talked about story on the auction donation process that our businesses participate in to allow our Rotary to have a Christmas auction to raise funds for our projects here and around the world.

November is Rotary Foundation Month: Rob Saunders distributed personal letters to each Rotarian that outlined how each of us can donate to Rotary’s Foundation in the next year. Rotary suggests that every Rotarian every year (EREY) pledged $100. Our district 7010, suggests that each Rotarian pledge $180. Rob points out in the letter that each of these pledges can be realized by a monthly payment of $15 or 0.50 per day which can either be paid from your bank account or credit card or cheque. Rotary Foundation is the charity of our Rotary clubs and we know that the administration costs less than 10%;  therefore it is an excellent location to give our personal money to so that Rotary clubs can continue to do wonderful things locally and around the world. Personally, I've became a monthly pledge Rotarian of $15, this year, for the first time. Rotarians, please contact Rob Saunders with your Rotary foundation pledge support form by the end of November.
